DIY: Come Spring Cleaning with Me

After
Before

For some of you, spring might have already come and summer is just around the corner, but here in Canada, the weather has just finally gotten a bit warmer (fingers crossed, it will last). To welcome the late spring, I decided to give my wardrobe a total clean up. If you are planning to spring (or summer in most cases) clean yourself, I invite you to come along with me and hopefully, this post will give your some helpful organization tips!

As you can see, my closet was in a horrible state! There were just too many sweaters, all the scarf were messed up and the pants were thrown everywhere, a total disaster! I started cleaning form the top down. I don’t know about you, but I like to organize things by taking it all out and putting it back together. So I just pulled out all of my sweaters which definitely took some muscles. I put away some of the chunkier turtlenecks that I believed will no longer be necessary, then I color coordinated them! Something about arranged colors really make me happy, so color ranging is the way to go!

Coats were a lot easier to organize. I just rearranged them by colors, again and since I have too little room and too few hangers, I layer some similar jackets on top of one another! Sometimes, it gives me inspiration on how to layer pieces, which is always a bonus!

The bottom shelf was such a mess! I folded all of my pants and on the left, I put all of my basic jeans that I wear often and placed the more wild, crazy ones in the middle and some workout clothes on the right! Voila! My closet looks so much neater now :) Mission half accomplished!

Before

first layer
Moving on to my drawers! As you can see, my closet is pretty tiny, so I put most of my shirts and other clothing pieces in my drawers. After months without organizing, some of my drawers couldn’t even close properly! LOL Definitely time to give it a makeover!
Before

After

I wouldn’t go into too much detail about how I put them in and all that, but my no. 1 tip to organize lots of clothes is to roll them up and again, color range them!
Before
After
As for my accessory drawer, I roll up my tights and neatly lined them up on the left side. I folded my scarf and piled them on top of one another. All of my belts were rolled up and my hats were put on top of one another. Somehow, all of my accessories took up the whole drawer perfectly.
Finally, my room is organized again! How is your cleaning? Do you enjoy cleaning up closets and drawers? I definitely enjoyed it! Comment below and let me know :)
Have a great day!

Outfit: Orange Blossom

Hi dolls :) I have been quite lazy on outfit posts. I've actually shot a few looks a while back but never got around to edit them.(So if you see the snow, that explains :P) I found outfit posts to be the most time-consuming posts but, no complaints, here's a new one for you!

I really like how orange looks on me. Not trying to be vain or anything, but I think orange really brightens my complexion and makes me look 10 times more awake. Who doesn't want to look like she just had 10 hours of beauty sleep? I thrifted this orange top from Goodwill and it has to be one of my favorite finds from there.

The material is so soft and the "V" neckline is really quite flattering. The basic design has so much versatility and I just adore it! I know floral jeans have been quite popular for a while and the trend might be dying a bit. But who cares?

I really like this pair of floral jeans from Garage. Unlike some other floral jeans I see which are quite light-colored, this dark pair is more figure-friendly. I found light jeans tend to make your legs appear bigger than they are so dark is the way to go!
Last but not least, those amazing wedges are from Forever 21. Can you believe it? I snatched them right away when I saw them. They were on sale for around $28! What a steal.

To play around with the orange hue, I wore Revlon Lipbutter in Tutti Frutti and Revlon Colorburst lip gloss in sizzle.
Hope you enjoyed my outfit post and take care!

Healthy Food DIY : Curry Vegetable Salad

I know I have been sharing quite a few DIYs but they are mainly fashion and beauty related posts. I haven’t shared with you all this side of me but did you know that I am addicted to health and fitness? While I may not be entirely committed to gym and occasionally I still eat not so healthy snacks to satisfy my sweet tooth, I have been trying to cook for myself and stay as active as I can. So today, I have a really simple and healthy salad recipe I would like to share with you all. Some of you might think of disgusting, leaf-tasting greens whenever you hear the word salad, this DIY is quite different from the traditional salad. I assure you all this is super yummy! Let’s get cracking :P

Here’re the ingredients that you will need. Feel free to add or take away any vegetables to suit your taste.
1/4 head of broccoli (or cauliflower)
1/2 of a red bell pepper (or any pepper of your choice)
7 to 8 mushrooms of your choice
2 tbsb of cheese (preferably goat cheese but I used mozzarella since I don’t have any goat cheese at home)
1 tbsb of extra virgin olive oil
1/2 tsb of curry
1/4 tsb of pepper
1/4 tsb of salt
1/4 cup of crushed nuts (I used pecans)
Any greens of your choice (I used lettuce)
Step 1. Preheat your oven to 450 f.
Step 2. Wash all of your veggies and start cutting them into smaller pieces.
Step 3. Add olive oil into your mix as well as all the seasonings. Feel free to add any spice of your choice.
Step 4. Transfer your seasoned veggies into a baking sheet and cook your veggies for approximately 15 min. Or depending on your oven, cook until your veggies are golden.
At this point, you can already smell the curry and other spices mixing together floating from the oven. The scent is absolutely incredible!
Step 5. Crush the nuts of your choice and cut the cheese into smaller pieces.
Step 6. Take out the veggies and add in the cheese and nuts.

  Enjoy!

I absolutely love this recipe. It’s totally healthy and tastes so incredible! I hope you all like my first ever cooking post and until next tim

Marshalls in Canada and new purse

Marshalls is finally in Canada!! Recently, there are so many big US stores launching here in Canada, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, just to name a few. I was downtown on Thursday and randomly bumped into Marshalls and decided to give it a go. Only when I walked in the store did I realize it was the grand opening for Marshalls in Canada! What a wonderful discovery. I got to visit the store on the first day!

To be honest with you guys, I was extremely disappointed with Target. Compared to Target, Marshalls is a total wonderful surprise. I heard of the store occasionally from YouTube gurus but it’s not that hyped. I wasn’t expecting much when I walked in there. But oh my goodness, that place is amazing! There are so many chic and trendy clothing items, shoes and beautiful home decor. I saw a super pretty mannequin for only $70. If not for the one-hour bus ride home, I would’ve picked it up right away. I was also pleasantly surprised to see brand names like Rachel Zoe, Juicy Couture, Calvin Klein in Marshall for an affordable price.

So, what did I get from there? I actually had a lot more items in my shopping cart but since I’m on a tight budget lately, I decided to only get two items from there. I have been on the hunt for a medium/large sized purse for as long as I can remember. However, I’ve never seen anything that fits my taste and my budget. I finally found my purse! It’s a really neutral colored purse with studs all over it. The quality seems very decent and it’s only $25!

It's by the brand MMS. I was so thrilled!

At the check out section, I found this Baptiste dryshampoo set. It’s $10 for 2 and I snatched it right away. It’s for brunette so it’s lightly tinted with brown color. I split the two with my friend. I’ve tried it once so far and I love it. It gave my scalp a cooling sensation and smelled incredible. My hair wasn’t dirty that day so I don’t know how well it would clean up oily hair. But so far so good!
I just want to mention some of the brands and sales I saw at Marshalls. If you are a beauty addict like me, you would find Marshall very exciting. I saw Seche Vite top coat for only $6! There are many china glaze, Orly, OPI nail polishes for a cheaper price. Fashion wise, there are so many pretty denim shirts, bustier, shorts for below $20. The home decor section has to be my favorite. Like I said, the full-size mannequin for only $70 is insane. There are so many pretty shabby chic furniture, photo frames. I am in love with Marshalls and will definitely go back and visit!
Have you ever been to Marshalls? What do you think?

Explore Fashion District Downtown

Hi my lovelies! Happy Easter and Happy April Fool’s Day :P What a bizarre combination! I’m so sorry about the lack of posts lately. There’re so many things going on in my life and I would like to share with you guys first. Guess what?! I got a part-time job. And no, this is no April Fool’s joke! If you are a fellow Canadian, then you must know about Tim Horton’s, Duh!! I started working at a Timmies nearby my house. If you don’t know what Tim Horton’s is, it’s almost like Starbucks in Canada but way cheaper :) There’re so many things to learn since I have to memorize how to make all the beverages and donut names and sandwiches etc, my brain is practically exploding! Some people may hate to work at fast food restaurants, but since this is my first real part-time job, so hey no complaints!! Also, I’m still on the hunt of a perfect prom dress and since Mid-term is approaching, I am insanely busy! But I want to compensate my absence with a nice Downtown Shopping Trip Haul.

I actually went shopping downtown during the March Break but I never got the chance to put up the post so here it is. If you are from Toronto, then you might have heard of the Fashion District which is located near Queen and Spadina. If not, that’s ok, I didn't either :P I was researching for a place to shop for prom dress, again… and this location showed up! I decided to check it out and I fell in love with the place instantly. It doesn’t matter if you are into main stream fashion or if you love digging through piles of clothes and looking for treasures in small boutiques, I promise you there’s something you’ll enjoy! Just to name a few brands, there’re H & M, Zara, Brandy Melville, etc. Also, there’re loads of small boutiques as well as I said. Enough rambling, let me show you what I got.

I went into this small gift shop with all sorts of cool stuff. I don’t remember what they have exactly but I remember that place was full of wonderful unique things that I couldn’t get enough. But since they were quite pricey, I settled on a pair of ear-rings. I know, it’s not that cool, but hey, look how pretty they are and plus, they’re only $5. They’re actually my first pair of hoop earrings and they have delicate roses all over it. I love to wear them when I pull my hair up into a high bun.

As I was browsing in Brandy Melville, loving their clothes but hating the price tags, I randomly bumped into this small boutique with sales sign all over the store. Who doesn’t like to shop smart, right? And I literally gasped as they told me a huge section of their stuff is only $12.99 each and another section is only $5.99! To add on that, I loved every single one of their items, they’re all either very classic or very trendy. I scored this black peplumish dress/top with the pearl necklace. It’s only 13 bucks and the dress totally reminds me of Holly from Breakfast at Tiffany’s. If you don’t know this, I am obsessed with Audrey Hepburn, I mean, who isn’t?

I also got a pair of lace shorts for the same price. I see these shorts all over the internet but was unable to find a pair I like. And this pair I scored is actually a skort (skirt/shorts :P) How convenient!

Then I went into Lush for their amazing bubble bars. I am not a huge fan of their bath boms cuz I just don’t see what's the point of them? I would choose fluffy bubbles over colorful bath at any time, but maybe it’s just me. I’ve always loved Lush’s customer service. The ladies there are always so insanely nice that I am often overwhelmed in a good way.

I picked up Green Bubbleroon which is supposed to look like macaroon though I hardly see any resemblance. The point is this bar smells absolutely divine. It’s a mix of lime, citrus and grass scent and I promise you a little bit of this goes a long way.

I also got Pop In The Bath which is again, a citrus scent bubble bar. This is quite shocking to me because I usually hate anything orange scented but I guess I don’t hate the other scents in the citrus family! I just used this one yesterday and it’s absolutely lovely!

On my way to the Fashion District, I picked up a L'occitane lavender hand cream. I previously owned their shea butter one which is phenomenal and I got this coupon to pick a free one, so why not? Plus, it's lavender, how can I resist?

The fashion district is also close to Kensington Market and China Town. How amazing! I bought this humongous bubble tea for only 3 something, it’s so huge that I was quite in shock when I received my order.

And again, I had a lovely time at Kensington Market. (You can see more HERE)
Though I didn’t find any dress that I was in love with, I had a wonderful time downtown and I really hope you enjoy my post today!

Have a wonderful Easter!

Help Me Go To Prom

Guys, can you believe it’s the last year in high school for me? I still have trouble believing that three years have already passed by. Since it’s my senior year, I obviously will be going to Prom. With a date or not, I am determined to have fun :P The problem is I haven’t been able to find a dress within my price range that I like. I want something long, mermaid and possibly red. It’s so hard to find a perfect red dress.

The reason I’m sharing with you guys about this is because I entered this contest on Makeupbee to recreate a look base on a prom dress. The winner gets to receive $500.00 Camille La Vie Gift Card which is an online dress store that sells amazing prom dresses. I know there are so many talented makeup artists out there that I practically don’t stand a chance but it really would mean the world to me if you take a second to vote for me HERE. I’m pretty all you need is a facebook account and just luv my picture. Please help me out guys.

Here’s a picture of the prom dress I chose to recreate and since its main colorsare pink, blue and purple, I used these three colors to create a romantic eye makeup. Please vote for me ;)

Ulta Haul: Real Techniques Brushes and EOS Lipbalms

I’ve heard numerous ravings about the Real Techniques makeup brushes and trust me, I’ve tried as many ways as I can to get my hands on them without much success. And guess what, I finally got them!! I had a friend who went over to the States during the March Break, and as soon as I heard that she was going, I asked her to get the brushes for me. Here they are!

I believe the most famous brush out of all the RT brushes is the buffing brush. So the first thing I asked her to get me was the Core Collection. Sorry if it’s a little bit dirty cuz of course, I had to try them out as soon as I got it. It’s phenomenal! It blends your foundation like a dream and it’s so soft.

I love those brushes for multiple reasons. First, it’s really quite affordable. The whole collection comes with four brushes: buffing brush, contour brush, detailer brush and pointed foundation brush. It also comes with a case and stand 2-in-1 which I think it’s so smart. The whole set is only $17.99. I would pay that much money just for the buffing brush alone. Also, the brushes are so adorable. Yeah, the MAC brushes are classic but they’re so boring. The black handles do nothing to my cute makeup counter. Those brushes, on the other hand, add such a nice pop of color! The yellow is so unexpected yet chic! They don’t look cheap at all. And of course, the brushes are extremely well-made and I love Samantha from pixiwoo on YouTube. I’d love to support her for all the amazing work she does.

Next, I got the Your Eyes Enhanced Starter Kit. Initially I saw on the Ulta website that they had a buy one get one half off sale on all the RT brushes and that was why I wanted the set. However, I ended up paying for the full price but that’s OK! The brushes are again very well-made and they’re in this nice purple color. The set includes: base shadow brush, deluxe crease brush, accent brush, pixel-point eyeliner brush and a brow brush. Again, it comes with a case and stand 2-in-1. The price of this set is also $17.99. I haven’t tried any of the brushes but I’ve always seen Sam using the deluxe crease brush to blend her under eye concealer and her makeup always looks flawless. I can’t wait to try those brushes out.

Who isn’t obsessed with EOS lip balms? I know I totally am. I was devastated when I missed the change to get the Alice in Wonderland Collection and now my friend was going to the States, I asked her to get me the passion fruit one.

This one I believe only comes in a set with the strawberry sorbet and it’s in such a lovely lavender color. It smells amazing too. I can’t quite place what it smells like since I have no idea what passion fruits are but it smells amazing as always.
I literally shrieked when my friend sent me a photo to tell me she got all the products I asked for. I was beyond thankful and happy for all of those and I hope you all have a wonderful day :)
